                        Medical coding is the process of giving diagnoses and treatments a code. It entails utilizing a certain set of codes to precisely describe a medical treatment or procedure that was performed and is an essential step in the medical billing process.

                  Medical coders apply codes to diagnoses and treatments using the alphanumeric codes from various coding systems, such as the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD).

                     International Classification of Diseases or ICD codes are set of diagnostic codes set by World Health Organisation (WHO). These codes contains diagnosis, signs and symptoms, or any other abnormal findings in a patient. For instance ICD Code, K30 denotes functional dyspepsia.  


              Functional dyspepsia is a digestive disorder characterized by a combination of upper abdominal symptoms such as pain, discomfort, and early satiety, without any evidence of an underlying organic disease. The exact cause of functional dyspepsia is unknown, but it is believed to be related to abnormal movement of the muscles in the digestive system, an imbalance of certain hormones and/or chemicals in the digestive tract, or psychological factors such as stress. 

                          Treatment of functional dyspepsia includes lifestyle modifications such as eating smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding foods and beverages that trigger symptoms, and managing stress. Medications such as proton pump inhibitors or promotility agents may be used to reduce symptoms. In some cases, psychotherapy or cognitive-behavioral therapy may help to reduce symptoms.
